Located on a five-acre green campus in Raigad, Anand Nilayam is being developed as a peaceful living space where elders can enjoy comfort, companionship, medical support, and an active community life. More than just a residence, it is a home built with compassion, respect, and the belief that every elder deserves to age with dignity, care, and happiness.

The Story Behind Anand Nilayam Senior Citizen Home
India is a land that has always revered its elders. Our scriptures say - "Matru Devo Bhava, Pitru Devo Bhava" - Mother is God, Father is God. Yet today, thousands of senior citizens across our cities and towns live in quiet loneliness, separated from family, struggling with health, and yearning for dignity and companionship.
It was this painful reality that stirred the hearts of a group of committed volunteers and social workers based in Thane, Maharashtra. They had seen it firsthand, elderly parents left alone in apartments while children worked in distant cities, retired professionals with no community to belong to, and ageing individuals with no one to call in a moment of need.
The question they asked themselves was simple but powerful:
"If not us, then who? If not now, then when?"
Driven by the spirit of Seva - selfless service and inspired by the timeless Indian value of caring for elders as a sacred duty, they came together under the banner of Anand Nilayam Senior Citizen Home, a registered non-profit organisation, to turn this concern into a concrete, lasting solution.
They identified a serene 5-acre plot of freehold land nestled in the hills of Village Tadgaon, Taluka Sudhagad, Raigad, situated peacefully between Mumbai and Pune, away from city noise yet accessible to families. With Town Planning approvals and Collector permissions already secured, the dream began taking shape.
The vision was not merely to build a building, but to create a home. A place where elders wake up to birdsong, share meals with companions, celebrate festivals together, receive quality healthcare, and spend their golden years with the joy and dignity they have always deserved.
The name says it all, Anand Nilayam,
The Abode of Happiness.
Today, with a pilot project already running at Brindavanam Farms, Khopoli, and a 74,000 sq ft greenfield campus in the making, Anand Nilayam invites every caring heart to become part of this sacred mission, as a donor, volunteer, founder member, or well-wisher.
